    AFIPRODEL is a non-profit organization of professionals in the field of local development. Its aims are promoting the resources of the Galician region to achieve a global economic, social, environmental, harmonious and sustainable development and defending and managing the interests of its associates, as well as promoting the social recognition of the figure of the local development professional. 

    This organization understands local development as a broader and more inclusive concept than local economic development. The ways to achieve this goal include: the discovery and promotion of new opportunities in the territory; the promotion of sustainable local development; the management and promotion of local development initiatives; the research and planning of projects and actions related to the development of the territories; the valuation of knowledge and signs of cultural identity; the increase of the employability of disadvantaged groups; the promotion of the international cooperation as a concept of solidarity; and the promotion of the exchange of experiences and collaborative projects with other territories. 

    AFIPRODEL is made up of a network of more than 80 professionals and experts in the field of local development, and the vast majority of its members are working in public institutions, mostly municipalities across the Galician region. They share knowledge, techniques and models, and put in common all kinds of resources in order to increase productivity and results. 

    AFRIPRODEL participates in various projects related to innovation, culture, local development, etc.

    The municipality staff is formed by approximately 60 people, and its organizational structure is composed of four departments (culture, youth and volunteering; sports and education; equality and welfare; and civil works, services and environment), with the aim of meeting the needs of the inhabitants of the municipal area. The government team focuses on generating value in the primary sectors and promoting local services and trade to settle population. 

    The municipality of Outes has a Local Development Agency that promotes the entrepreneurial culture, with special emphasis on the promotion of rural and social economy. The team of the Local Development Agency has two technicians with more than 15 years of experience in consulting, advice and training in the fields of guidance and job placement, advice and training to entrepreneurs, and dissemination of social and cooperative economy. 

    It is part of a regional network (Rede Eusumo) that is responsible for social economy promotion, dissemination and training among entrepreneurial groups. In a rural environment, with a strong presence of the primary sector in the local economic base, social economy formulas are considered a priority as a solution for the creation of employment and self-employment among its citizens in general and among the young population in particular

    The Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) is an independent, privately financed economic research institute headquartered in Hamburg. Sole shareholder of the HWWI is the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Furthermore, the Helmut Schmidt University is an associated scientific partner of the Institute. Within the framework of this cooperation, the HSU undertakes the scientific direction of the HWWI. In its function as an economic research institute, the HWWI provides a platform where scientists, politicians, entrepreneurs, associations and the interested public can network and discuss future economic challenges in order to work out possible solutions. In its own research work, the HWWI focuses primarily on global economic issues, such as research into the consequences of environmental pollution and climate change, the causes and consequences of international migration flows, or the determinants of global economic growth. The HWWI is committed to evidence-based economic policy. Evidence-based research requires that recommendations for economic policy action are derived on the basis of appropriately collected data. For this purpose, modern statistical-econometric methods from different fields are primarily used. Current research areas of the HWWI are: Business Cycle and Growth, Environment and Climate, Migration and Integration, Spatial Economics.

    Meath County Council is the authority responsible for local government in County Meath, Ireland. As a county council, it is governed by the Local Government Act 2001. The council is responsible for housing and community, roads and transportation, urban planning and development, amenity and culture, and environment.[1] The council has 40 elected members. Elections are held every five years and are by single transferable vote. The head of the council has the title of Cathaoirleach (Chairperson). The county administration is headed by a Chief Executive, Jackie Maguire. The county town is Navan. 

    Climate Change is a reality and local authorities like Meath County Council are at the coal face of advancing climate adaptation and mitigation in Ireland. While we are responsible for emissions and adaptations, we are also influencers in such areas as energy, waste management, air quality, biodiversity, surface water management, planning, building control, transport choices etc.

     

    Atlantis Engineering is a Greek ICT SME with products that support daily production activities in different factories with simple and advanced manufacturing systems, customized maintenance consulting and training, and asset life cycle optimization. The main area of application of their expertise is industrial manufacturing and maintenance. The company also has considerable experience in on-the-job training, work-based learning, workshop organization and pilot testing while being experienced in problem-based solving and e-learning methods for industrial manufacturing companies. Finally, Atlantis participates in various R&D EU projects (including the circular economy topic), national projects and several vocational training projects as well. 

    Local action group Zagorje-Sutla is a non profit association established as partnership among public, private and civil sector. Located in the northwestern part of Croatia bordering Slovenia, LAG covers 11 municipalities and cities and has around 44 000 inhabitants on the area of 439 km2. Goal of our Local development strategy is to promote successful and sustainable economy, to promote diversification of agricultural activities and support local market, to create inclusive rural area and to support sustainable social local development. The implementation of Local development strategy is based on LEADER approach, which means LAG provides public calls for agriculturists and local government units. Furthermore, LAG Zagorje-Sutla deals with volunteerism, entrepreneurship, social inclusion and youth participation, among other things.

    WIN (EU) is the primary micro-enterprise support provider in the east border region in Ireland.

    We provide a continuum of support for entrepreneurs, from guidance for those with a general interest in self-employment, through business planning support for business start-ups, to specialist mentoring for existing businesses at growth stage.

    Since 2001 our team has assisted 2,668 entrepreneurs to develop businesses, employing 4,615 people and contributing € tens of millions annually to the east-border region economy.

    WIN (EU) is registered in the Irish Republic as a company under the name “WIN Consultants Ltd”.

     

    Municipality of Capannori is a public local authority operating in a territory of 165 km in Tuscany, located near the city of Lucca, with a population of 46.542 inhabitants. Municipality of Capannori collaborates at the local level with different organizations and stakeholders such as Public Health Service, Schools, Chamber of Commerce, Province of Lucca, Tuscan Regional Authority. In past years, CAPANNORI has implemented many projects and best practices concerning the environment, active citizenship and inter-cultural dialogue. CAPANNORI has adopted a Zero waste strategy in the sector of urban waste management, becoming a benchmark in the field of door-to-door collection and leader in the European Zero Waste network. Experience relevant to the project. On the side of civic participation and circular economy, the Municipality of Capannori carried out a project called “Circularicity”, that selected best innovative ideas developed by citizens, that were supported through the tool of civic crowdfunding and which generated start-up experiences in the territory. This project has begun a path of reflection on the sharing economy, the pool economy and the collaborative economy in general.
